很久以前看的这部片子，许多想法都忘记了，但有的还是挺深的。
从来不觉得政治有多光明磊落，可没想到它竟然会比想像的还糟。电影虽然有夸大的成份，但不可否认：它揭示了政治的黑幕。有时看新闻会想，这幕后会是怎样的呢？
《大事件》也有异曲同工之妙。一场关乎人命的警匪战却变成了一幕现导现演的剧。看来高科技带来的并不都是好事，它也成了政治等的化妆笔。

The story sets up on the occasion before America’s presidential elections. A spin-doctor and Hollywood produce join efforts to “fabricate” a war in order to cover-up president’s sex scandal. They work together as a well-organized team, creating a war hero who’s a disabled prisoner, a lovely young female refugee who’s a common girl from the States, a fake patriotic funeral which is watched by the whole world. They did it, the president won, but the people failed, the ideal of a independent, democratic America failed.

这是今晚看的电影《Wag the dog》中的片首语。如果狗的尾巴比狗本身聪明，那么就不是狗摇尾巴而是尾巴摇狗了。看完片子，终于懂了，相当讽刺。
一场总统选举的闹剧，不过是全民参加的游戏而已，只是游戏参与者把观众都蒙在了鼓里。很像是魔术表演，明明知道一切不过是场骗局，但因为它不可思议的障眼法，还是使许多人乐在其中。
感觉很像丹布朗的小说《骗局》，为了让总统赢得选举，那些智囊团成员不惜编造弥天大谎，来推助他们的傀儡演员总统先生上台执政。往往看着片子，都会被其中讽刺性超强的细节而逗得笑起来。
总统的两名特别顾问秘访知名导演，以制造爆炸性战争新闻来掩盖总统的性丑闻。而导演在不知访客底细的情况下,态度傲慢并大肆奚落电视中正在被指责的总统先生。而在得知两人的机要地位以后，导演马上关小了电视声音，并毫不犹豫地选择帮助总统造假。
